Advanced Certificate in Cultural Protection delivered in Scotland

From the 28th to the 30th of January, members of Trident Manor delivered the Advanced Certificate in the Protection of Cultural Venues programme to members of staff from National Trust Scotland at a historic venue in Aberdeenshire.

This CPD accredited programme builds from the introductory course, developing a more in-depth understanding of the threats cultural venues face and good practices in increasing awareness within teams and organisations. Risk assessing and identifying vulnerabilities from a security perspective were then discussed, followed by a real-life exercise at a historical venue where attendees were able to put their new skills into practice.

The feedback for this session has been very positive, with several attendees agreeing that it was extremely beneficial to be able to conduct a practice review of a real venue, and for managers from different Scottish venues share their wide experiences and perspectives over the course of the 3 days. The pragmatic approach of the delivery was found to be useful and made the content approachable and useful for the attendees, despite the variety in their venue types.
