Cultural Protection Training Delivered in Mexico

On the 3rd of April 2025, Hannah Miller delivered the Introduction to the Protection of Cultural Venues programme at the world-famous Diego Rivera Anahuacalli Museum for staff working at the Anahuacalli Museum and the Frida Kahlo Museum in Mexico City.

The CPD-accredited introductory programme lays the foundations for the effective protection of assets, including collections, buildings, staff and visitors. Through focusing on prevention, attendees were taught about the nature of the different threats that can impact cultural heritage, how they manifest, and sensible actions that can be taken to mitigate, manage or, where possible, prevent possible risks to cultural property. Elements of situational awareness and surveillance detection were discussed concerning the threats posed by organised criminals to cultural venues, followed by operational measures that can help increase the overall protection and security culture of the two venues.

The enthusiasm shown by the participants for improving their understanding of the threats and proactive measures was inspiring and insightful. Trident Manor are delighted to be able to offer this type of outreach in Latin America, where the cultural sector is growing and the threat landscape is constantly evolving.

The hospitality shown by the Anahuacalli and the Frida Kahlo museums was greatly appreciated, as was the feedback provided after the course. One attendee stated that it was an “Informative, thoughtful, and analytical training delivered by Hannah Miller and Trident Manor Training Academy [...] I highly recommend it”.

Trident Manor looks forward to continued engagement with the teams at the Frida Kahlo and the Anahuacalli museums.
