Cultural Protection training delivered in North East Scotland

A Member of Trident Manor Training academy travelled to the North East of Scotland to deliver the Introduction to the Protection of Cultural Venues Training for Historic Houses and Castles in the area.

This programme provides an introduction to understanding the various threats faced by cultural venues. It employs outlines frameworks such as the Five Stage Attack Cycle, illustrating the planning processes used by criminals in activities like robbery, burglary, terrorism, or protests.

The programme also highlights the importance of situational awareness and surveillance detection as skills for protecting cultural venues. Being proactive in mitigating potential threats and risks at any venue can ensure the continued running of operations and protection of assets.

Finally, the programme highlights essential operational practices that all venues should implement. These include ensuring staff are confident in their roles and responsibilities, guaranteeing that technical equipment is operated effectively, and promoting continuous learning opportunities through training and education.

The attendees of this training represented several different venues with different contexts and challenges. The experiences that were shared created thought provoking discussions and takeaways to complement the training content.
