IAASF Coordinator Travels to Milan to Deliver CPA

The IAASF Coordinator, Louise Williamson, had the honour of meeting with the President of Fondazione Enzo Hruby, Enzo Hruby and Carlo Hruby to deliver the very well-deserved Cultural Heritage Protection Initiative CPA (Cultural Protection Award).

As part of the IAASF Conference 2024, we were delighted to announce the second year of the Cultural Protection Awards (CPAs). Each year, we hear of professionals in the culture and security sectors with an outstanding attitude and passion towards the protection of cultural heritage globally and we want to recognise these individuals, projects, and organisations. There are four categories available for submitting a nomination including the Young Cultural Protection Leader, Cultural Heritage Protection Initiative, Cultural Protection Training Initiative, and Cultural Protection Ambassador.

This year, we were pleased to see nominations from our international colleagues operating to protect the cultural heritage of other countries. One of which was the Enzo Hruby Foundation (Fondazione Enzo Hruby). The foundation was founded in 2007 by the Hruby family and HESA SpA, an Italian company working with the world's leading manufacturers in the security sector since 1974. They provide the best equipment and most advanced technologies for the protection and safety of people and the country's residential, commercial, industrial, and banking buildings. The purpose of the Enzo Hruby Foundation, which is a non-profit organisation and pursues objectives with a social value, is “the promotion of a culture of security understood as the protection or safeguarding of public and private assets – first and foremost, those of artistic, monumental, historical and landscape interest – through the correct use of appropriate technologies”. (www.fondazionehruby.org).

On the 19th of November, Louise began her travels to Milan to hand over the award to the foundation's President, Enzo Hruby and Vice President, Carlo Hruby. It was great to hear about the work they conduct throughout Italy including their training programmes at post-graduate university level, their upcoming events, and their drive to ensure the sensibility and knowledge of security for the cultural heritage of Italy is achieved.

Thank you very much for meeting with Louise, and we look forward to close communications with you soon.
