Ongoing Protective Security Training - September 2024
Friday, 20th September 2024
So far in September, the Trident Manor team has delivered a wide range of training programmes that have been designed to protect and keep people safe.
In September, the Trident Manor team has been busy supporting clients from several sectors and organisations across England in reducing the risk their staff face from violence in its many forms. In most cases, the activities involve customer-facing teams who face differing levels of violence from verbal abuse and intimidation to being attacked by weapons.
Most of the programmes that have been delivered have been approved by the CPD Accreditation Services and include:
- Personal Safety & Security Workshop (PSSW): Aimed at increasing levels of alertness and vigilance to potentially harmful situations through proactive identification and management. This programme seeks to proactively avoid conflict as far as possible instead of managing a conflict situation where harm is more likely to occur.
- Preventing Workplace Violence: This programme highlights the different threat sources (internal, external, and strangers) that can result in workplace violence and outlines ways in which individuals and organisations can reduce the risk to staff and ensure better support.
- Situational Awareness: The cornerstone of personal safety and security. This programme helps the delegates understand how little we use our senses to remain alert and conscious of changes to the situation that exists. This skill is very helpful in protecting against personal violence, criminal actions, hostile surveillance, and other preparatory acts. In doing so the likelihood of being caught unaware is reduced and proactive actions can be taken.
The final programme that has been delivered so far this month is not yet accredited but will be within the next 2 months and that is the:
- Mail Screening and Suspect Packages: This programme helps those involved in operational activities or the handling of mail to identify indicators that would suggest something is suspicious. It discusses parts of explosive devices, the 7’s principles (we have expanded it to 9) and the steps that can be taken to correctly deal with the situation including evacuation drills and safe handling.
These programmes have been delivered globally over the past few years and we are proud to seek ways in which we can reduce violence and help keep people and organisations safe.
