Pen-Testing in Dublin

Thursday, 13th March 2025

Earlier this week, on behalf of a global trade body, Trident Manor staff undertook a pen-test of a site responsible for the secure destruction of sensitive and confidential material.

Pen-Testing in Dublin

Trident Manor staff attended the head office of an Irish-based organisation on the outskirts of Dublin. Surveillance was conducted, monitoring movements to and from the premises and checking for vulnerabilities that would enable access to the sensitive storage areas.

It was good to see that effective procedures existed, and while there was access to the offices, it was unclear whether any secure lines existed without entering. The doors and windows around the building and away from the occupied spaces were all secure, and so a decision was taken to enter as a customer.

Having entered the main reception, the Trident Manor representative was challenged before taking five steps into the offices by a manager who happened to be eating his lunch. When details were confirmed, a check with staff members was undertaken, and all secure areas were found to be correctly controlled, and no sensitive or confidential information was found to be accessible.

As has been previously commented, when undertaking these types of activities, it is great to see organisations following correct procedures, which provides quality assurance not only for the trade body but also for the clients who use the services provided by accredited organisations.
