On Wednesday the 13th of November, our Junior Security Consultant, Hannah Miller delivered our Personal Safety and Security Workshop (PSSW) for Women online.
As the dark nights approach earlier in the evenings, we are more likely to be placed in vulnerable situations when it comes to our personal safety.
There have been several cases in recent years which has caused violence against women and girls to become a national crisis. In 2021, we saw the tragic death of Sarah Everard who was killed by police officer Wayne Cousins, sisters Nicole Smallman and Bibaa Henry were killed in a park in London in 2020, as well as Sabina Nessa in September 2021.
One of our first deliveries of this programme was in 2021 following the tragic cases of violence against women to support the community of women who had their fears and uncertainties. We were able to create a safe space and offer advice on what can be done to be ‘proactive’ in acknowledging our surroundings and establishing distance from potential threats.
Therefore, we were delighted to have Hannah host this session with both women and men seeking to learn more about the personal safety and security of women. This can be a sensitive topic and we hope to create a comforting approach to personal safety and to prevent any ‘scare-mongering’ of this topic.
We would like to thank everyone who attended this programme and we hope we were able to do the topic of personal safety for women justice. If you have any questions regarding the PSSW stand-alone programme or this specialist version for women, please feel free to contact us. We are also happy to discuss our other CPD Certified programmes available both online and in-person - training@tridentmanor.com.
