Trident Manor was retained to undertake a security review of a gallery which is a part of the University of Cambridge and renowned for exhibiting modern art. The review was undertaken in a supportive manner which helps to improve the overall levels of security and the protection of the venue’s assets.

In January 2025, as part of multiple deployments, a member of the Trident Manor team visited Cambridge to undertake a security review of a museum/gallery renowned for exhibiting modern art alongside other works in dedicated galleries.

The venue had been previously visited outside working hours to evaluate the social situation in and around the venue. At that time items were left out that could be used to attack glazing in and around the venue.

Time was taken to discuss security with a wide range of stakeholders and understand their concerns for the venue, visitors, and collections. This is always an important part of any security review as it often helps put things into context and understand where attention needs to be applied to evaluate any concerns raised.

During this review, a mixture of modern and old buildings added to the venue's complexities, as did the public's accessibility to many of the original collections.

It was very positive to see the level of staff engagement from across all teams and their desire to protect the collections and the venue's assets.

Andy Davis said, “To be of benefit to the client a review must be truthful and highlight issues that are identified in a professional manner that is constructive and not such that will stop staff seeing the security of collections as everybody’s responsibility.”
