Risk Management training delivered to cultural venue representatives from across Scotland
Thursday, 29th February 2024
February proved to be a busy month for the Trident Manor Training Academy team, who ended the month with a visit to the Historic Environment Scotland offices in Edinburgh to deliver training over 2 days.
The training delivered was an Introduction to Security Risk Management at Cultural Venues on both days, a programme which covers the range of threats that can impact cultural and heritage sites as well as accessible risk management practices that can be employed to mitigate these. An introduction to security in depth was provided, which outlined ways in which museums and historic sites can proportionately increase the protective measures of their venues.
This session was particularly interesting as the attendees represented a diverse selection of HES venues across Scotland. During the session, participants shared questions and experiences relating to monuments, castles, museums and other types of cultural venues which may not otherwise have been shared between teams, providing an enriching learning experience for the group.
Training is a great way to equip teams with the necessary tools for assessing risks at their venues and also allows opportunities for open communication and sharing of information.
