The Benefits of Training - Supporting Cultural Venues
Friday, 1st March 2024
Throughout February and March, Trident Manor Training Academy (TMTA) was honoured to deliver Cultural Protection Training to both UK-based and international cultural organisations.
Over the years, TMTA has developed a catalogue of certified programmes dedicated to the protection of cultural venues including museums, galleries, places of worship, ministries, councils, and archives. These programmes have supported front-of-house staff, security teams, curators, directors and volunteers with their understanding of the threats that exist at cultural venues, how attacks happen, the benefits of situational awareness, how to spot surveillance, and risk management processes that can be adopted to better protect cultural venues for future generations.
As part of our social outreach, the team recently visited Pristina, Kosovo to deliver both our Introduction to the Protection of Cultural Venues and Introduction to Security Risk Management at Cultural Venues ( both CPD Certified) to members of the Kosovo Council for Cultural Heritage and the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Sport. They later visited Scotland to deliver the same programmes to members of staff operating at over 20 venues.
We encourage all participants to give their feedback and any further comments regarding how they found the training and what they found the most beneficial. These comments include, "More of this type of training is needed. Thank you, I enjoyed the day!" and "Very thought-provoking about security in general and made me think of ways to improve the protection of my specific site".
