2024
In October 2024, the IAASF Committee welcomed delegates to Redworth Hall Hotel, County Durham for the second time to attend the 'Developing Resilience for the Protection of Cultural Venues' conference. This was one the best line-up of speakers to date with security and cultural heritage professionals from the UK, Hungary, Egypt, Germany and Saudi Arabia sharing their insights into the threats to cultural venues and the solutions available to ensure they are safe and secure. The IAASF Gala Dinner was hosted in the venue's Great Hall as well as the Cultural Protection Awards (CPAs) ceremony which saw the winners recognised for their dedication to protecting the cultural sector.
2023
The IAASF Conference returned in 2023 at Redworth Hall Hotel, County Durham to discuss 'Protecting Cultural Venues During Uncertain Times'. Across three days we welcome delegates and speakers from across Europe, the Middle East, New Zealand, Canada, and the UK to network with others and visit our sponsors and exhibitors area displaying the latest security innovations. We also hosted a Gala Dinner featuring the Cultural Protection Awards and 'Art for Ukraine' Auction where we were joined by TV personality and auctioneering expert, Angus Ashworth.
2021
In 2021 the arts, antiquities, and cultural heritage sectors had been hit particularly hard by the Covid-19 pandemic. The ability to maintain and protect collections and venues was made harder due to safety restrictions, the loss of revenue, having to operate with reduced staff, and limited opening times. As a result, the IAASF Management Team decided to host a two-day special event to provide advice & guidance about the security and safety risks that exist, and sensible approaches to proactively manage and reduce them. Hosted in Darlington, the conference had speakers travelling from across the UK to share their expertise with our attendees.
2017
IAASF 2017 attracted new and exciting speakers, alongside our returning speakers who are experts within their fields and who want to share their experiences with attendees. Held in the Olympia Exhibition Centre, London, the two-day programme included speakers from around the world as well as excellent networking opportunities.
2016
In 2016, at the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead, we had some excellent international speakers who shared their knowledge and expertise with attendees. Fantastic feedback was received relating to the content of the presentations and the quality of speakers. The presentations enabled everybody to take away a deeper and more meaningful understanding of the security issues that exist.
